How to Remove Candle Wax From a Table Cloth

The first thing you need to do is to gently scrape off as much candle wax as you can from the table cloth using a palette knife or scraper. You could also try using a credit card if you do not have anything else available. Once you have removed as much wax as possible without damaging the table cloth we need to move on to the freezer.

Find a freezer safe bag big enough and put your table cloth in it. Put it in the freezer for a few hours. This will make the remaining candle wax more brittle and easier to remove. Once the table cloth has been in the freezer for a few hours remove it and scrape off more of the wax. Do this carefully as you do not want to damage the table cloth. Now get out your ironing board and switch your iron on ready for the last step in the process.

By now most of the wax should have been removed. We will now remove the rest using the iron. Put an old towel on the ironing board. Place a brown paper bag on the towel with your table cloth on the top. Now place another old towel over that. Now set your iron at a medium heat and place it over the top towel moving it backwards and forwards. The heat from the iron should transfer the remaining candle wax to the paper bag.
